Closer to Heaven: Ladakh Expedition
Tour Overview
The route balances high-altitude adventure with comfort: centrally heated hotel rooms in Leh, a resort stay near Nubra, Royal Enfield Himalayan 452cc motorcycles with unlimited fuel, a full medical support kit, and a backup vehicle convoy throughout. It's built for riders who want the full Ladakh story borders, lakes, dunes, and the highest roads on the planet without sacrificing a hot shower at the end of the day.
Tour Highlights
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrival at Leh
Arrive in Leh and settle into your centrally heated hotel room. Spend the day acclimatizing to the altitude (11,500 ft): light walking only, plenty of fluids, and an early rest ahead of the ride.
Srinagar Route Sightseeing
A short, scenic ride along the Leh–Srinagar highway to continue acclimatization while taking in Ladakh's dramatic valley landscapes, monasteries, and roadside attractions.
Leh to Nubra via Khardung La
Climb one of the world's highest motorable passes, Khardung La, before descending into the sandy expanse of Nubra Valley; overnight at the riverside resort villa.
Tuk tuk, Pakistan Village
The expedition's centerpiece day: a climb to Mig La, billed as the world's highest motorable road. Thin air, big views, and a genuine sense of "closer to heaven" before descending into Hanle, home to one of the world's highest astronomical observatories.
Nubra to Pangong via Shyok
Follow the Shyok River route across remote terrain to reach the shimmering shores of Pangong Lake.
Pangong to Hanle
A long, remote ride from Pangong to Hanle, home to one of the world's highest astronomical observatories and some of Ladakh's darkest, clearest night skies.
Hanle to Umling La and back to Hanle
Tackle Umling La, one of the world's highest motorable roads, before returning to Hanle for the night.
Hanle, Mig La to Leh
Cross Mig La, the new world's highest motorable road at 19,400 ft, en route back to Leh, the expedition's second high-altitude pass crossing.
